Requirements

A degree, preferably a 2:1, in any of the following engineering (mechanical, electrical, or chemical), STEM, geography, accounting and finance or business-based degrees.

  • Ability to express yourself through both verbal and written communication
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including the full suite of Microsoft applications
  • Full, clean UK driving licence for UK travel
  • Able to relocate
  • British citizen or UK settled status

The programme

Our graduate trainee manager programmes have been designed to attract, develop, and retain the graduates who will become our future leaders.  During the programme you will get the chance to participate in wider company development activities and project delivery as well as commit time to your professional development in role. We will support you with a variety of training modules and one-to-one coaching from managers and mentors.

To put yourself in the best possible position to get the most from the programme, you will need to have enthusiasm for personal and professional development and the determination to succeed.

We will equip you with an in-depth understanding of our business and the leadership, technical and people skills you’ll need as a future business leader. What are the eligibility requirements for the Graduate trainee management programme?

You are eligible to apply for the programme if you:

  • Are a British citizen or have a UK settled status
  • Have completed a university degree within the last two years, or are completing your final year of study with a 2:1
  • Are available to participate in all components of the selection process
  • Are willing and able to relocate
  • Have a full UK driving licence

Do I need previous work experience to apply?

Previous work experience is desirable but not a requirement of the programme.

When do applications open/close?

Applications open in September. specific dates will be advised closer to the application opening date.

What do I need to do after submitting my application?

Where will I be working?

Hanson has over 300 sites located across , UK you may be asked to rotate to a number of these throughout your program, therefore you will need to hold a full UK driving licence by September.

How long does the Program run for?

The programme is designed as a two year program (with a possible 3rd year in cement)

Am I guaranteed a role at the end of the programme?

You will be employed on a permanent contract and supported to move into a post graduate role at the end of the programme. In the last 2 years 100% of graduates completing our programme have moved onto the next step of their career with us.

Maximise your summer break by discovering how you can put your degree to work

You will receive structured on the job training and develop new skills, working on real world projects.  Choose from a range of internships including engineering, business and finance project management.  On successful completion of your internship you could find yourself securing a graduate role
